Tech Enterprise ’09: Dual-Use Ideas for Hawaii

Hawaii is the most petroleum dependent state with close-to 77% of its populationĀ dependent on petroleum for electricity. In comparison, other states like Florida and New York are merely 16 to 18% petroleum dependent. Ted Peck, a program manager with the Strategic Industries Division of Hawaii, shared this fact during his presentation about the “Hawaii Clean Energy Initiativeā€ at the 8th Annual Tech Enterprise 2009 in Honolulu (June 24-25).
